Could this be our new summer hangout? The Filling
Station, conceived by architects Carmody Groarke, is a
semi-permanent building with a lifespan of two years set behind
King's Cross station. The venue will house a cultural meeting
space, and Shrimpy's restaurant set up by the boys behind
Bistrotheque. The ingenious structure, created around a former
petrol station, is made from scaffolding and fibreglass "walls"
which illuminate at night. Fill up on that...

Just when you thought you had a handle on London's
sensational print artists, along comes another star. Ginny Litscher
creates slightly hallucinogenic worlds by collaging intricately
hand-drawn symbols and motifs - inspiration comes from all manner
of sources, including mythology, architectural details and flora
and fauna. Printed on heavy silks in Italy and trimmed with soft
fringes, Litscher's scarves tell stories and wrap up bare shoulders
rather well. Perfect for the London Season! From Liberty and
Joseph.

Saturday night got a little libertine - we spent the
evening at London's hottest Mexican haunt, La Bodega Negra. Thanks
to Manhattan nightlife maestro Serge Becker and partners Will
Ricker and Ed Spencer-Churchill the basement restaurant, which sits
on Soho's outer edges, has a very New York feel - at last we don't
have to jump on a plane for the kind of fun, buzzy eateries that he
does so well. We sat at the bar, munched on miniature tacos and
sipped velvety tequilas while we enjoyed some of the best
people-watching money can buy (hence the bank of paparazzi waiting
on the street outside). Just don't be put off by the rather risqué
fascia - downstairs is a den of just enough iniquity. We
love.

When our favourite New York eaterie, The Lion, pops up in
London's hip Brompton Club, it's too good a combination to refuse.
Vogue's night of indulgence began with a series of
cocktails in colours that could rival a Peter Pilotto dress,
rustled up by the fabulous barman, Nico. Following a delicious
dinner of crudités and poussin, we were treated to a risqué kabaret
performance by Medium Rare, before we called it a night with one or
two shots accompanied by multiple sparkler rockets, which, suffice
to say, went out as quickly as our shots went down. It's official:
it's our new favourite hangout.

Vogue Towers had an incredibly svelte and
sunny visitor yesterday. Model Karlie Kloss, who was in the office
for a fitting, came face-to-face with her own image in the Vogue
corridor. The shot was taken for this magazine by Terry Richardson
in a Manhattan diner - but what we want to know is, why can't we
look like that after tucking into a big ole burger?

Following on from the success of its Indian Ocean
outpost last year, beachwear webstore Clickini.com has now "popped
up" at Torstrasse 68 in Berlin's uber-chic Mitte
district, just down the street from Soho House
Berlin (Torstrasse 1) and around the corner from the epicentre
of the city's renowned contemporary arts scene. The bijou boutique,
named #ClickiniStudio, is a minimalist, gallery-themed
space dedicated to all things swimwear. Find key pieces by
Germany's own Tomas Maier and Jil Sander, plus the best swim picks
from Balmain, Chloé, Bronzette, Lisa Marie Fernandez and Roksanda
Ilincic.
"I chose Berlin as the location for
#ClickiniStudio back in November," reveals Clickini.com owner and
founder Jonathan McKeever, "because I wanted to try
to keep things fresh and interesting by doing
something the exact opposite of the amazing Clickini Cabana at
Maradiva in Mauritius - and a minimalist Berlin art
gallery theme seemed to fit the bill. Berlin is also one of my
favourite European cities. I love spending time here. I almost
feel like we grew up together - the Wall came down when I was 13
and my brother was living in Berlin at that time. We had
a big graffitied chunk of the Wall on the mantlepiece at home
and the city has always been synonymous with a sense of freedom for
me, particularly on a creative level."
Bestsellers to date? Wet-look styles by Norma Kamali and Laura
Urbinati, Lisa Marie Fernandez's neoprene
creations, plus black and white prints by Jil
Sander and Balmain.
#ClickiniStudio is now open at Torstrasse
68, Berlin Mitte, until May 19; open Tuesday to
Saturday, 12pm to 7pm. If you can't make it along in person, you
can log on 24/7 to Clickini.com.

Seeing as the sun failed to make an appearance this
bank holiday, we decided to brighten up our wardrobes instead -
with a trip to Bicester Village, Oxfordshire. For those of you who
haven't made the 40-minute pilgrimage from London's Marylebone
Station, Bicester Village is a self-contained dreamland of designer
deals.
Here are our top tips:
- Go early! There is so much to look at. Be sure to
leave enough time to check our the homewares as well as the
clothes.
- Browse before you buy. The choice is so fantastic,
it's best to know what your options are before you purchase. The
staff are all incredibly helpful and will often hold items for you
while you do your rounds.
- Wear something practical - it makes trying things
on a lot easier.
We had a cashmere-induced religious experience in Prada, went
accessories-crazy in Marni, and loved seeing all our favourite
British designers in the Designers' Collective. By the time we had
showed each other our purchases over some salt-and-pepper squid and
a glass of Prosecco, night had fallen, and we were the last to
leave!

Last night, Voguettes headed to Acne Studios to the launch of
its first-ever book, Snowdon Blue, 61 portraits celebrating Lord
Snowdon's love of the classic blue shirt. Artists Polly Morgan and
Mat Collishaw, designers Maarten van der Horst and Charlie
Casely-Hayford, and model and DJ Mary Charteris all enjoyed the
portraits and good company. Fashion East fairy godmother Lulu
Kennedy chatted to us about her new role as editor-at-large at our
sister title, Love magazine. Also in attendance were Jonathan
Newhouse, chairman of Condé Nast International, Acne's creative
director, Jonny Johansson, and AA Gill.
Alongside the book launch, Acne has created a
collection of eight unisex blue shirts. The exhibition of Snowdon
portraits, including shots of David Bowie, the Queen Mother and
Manolo Blahnik, is at the Dover Street store until 13 May, and will
then travel to Paris and Stockholm.

Oxford Street is already flying Union Jack as
Jubilee-driven patriotism starts to swell the city. On Jermyn
Street, Thomas Pink celebrates Britain's eccentricities, most
famous social engagements and the pomp and circumstance of a jolly
romp with a new photobook featuring pearly kings and queens, Prince
Harry, Henley Regatta competitors and London Tweed Runners.
Captions by Alice Waugh (granddaughter of Evelyn Waugh, the
quintessential Englishman) date each event, giving insight to the
historical background, as well as offering Thomas Pink style tips.
To top off, an accompanying exhibition launches in their Jermyn
Street flagship this week. Jolly good.

This foxy paper cut was a gift to Robert Fox, producer of the
five-starreviewed South Downs, a new play by David Hare
currently running at the Harold Pinter Theatre, London. The gift
was made by one Poppy Chancellor, daughter of the fabulous Anna
Chancellor, who has leading role in the play. The good news is that
Poppy can be commissioned. She's currently working on

Wellies were donned and pelting rain braved to see
the designer stalls at the Best Of British party at La Galleria
last week. Brainchild of skincare brand Medico Beauty, run by
skin-health experts Camilla, Constance and Aysha Campion-Awwad,
this summer party took the form of an indoor mini-festival put on
by the brands themselves to support each other, raise awareness,
and generally celebrate. We overdosed on the delicious canapés and
also salivated over Bex Rox's gorgeous jewellery and Sophia Rogge's
beautiful marine-print sarongs which raise money for coral
conservation. After a skincare analysis by the Medico Beauty team
and a Jemma Kidd makeover, we sipped wine with Bex of Bex Rox who
confessed to not being allowed behind the till at her stall because
she always wants to give everything away. A great evening to
inspire young start-up companies to support each other.

The handsome Dasgupta (seen here beside Katy
Grannan's Anonymous, Los Angeles and San Francisco Boulevard Series
2009) enjoyed an audience with photographers Hannah Starkey and
Mitch Epstein, curator Susan Bright and occasional Vogue writer
Geoff Dyer in a panel discussion on Photography and the Art
World. Is a Diane Arbus image as important as
a Mark Rothko painting, they asked? A cursory stroll around the
works on show at the Saatchi until July 22 - Ryan McGinley, Mat
Collishaw, Chris Levine - commands a resounding yes.
